I sent Newts a text about this yesterday, but hopefully he didn't faint like he did when Sonic Riders was announced. Funnily enough, one of the first games I ever wrote was a Sonic RPG (well, a text adventure). The very first Shining Online engine was also based on a Sonic game I'd written before. Good times...

I'd love to have a team of sonic, knuckles, and (if they do kinda what the Mario RPG did back o the SNES) have robotnik on my team. Would be so much fun.

Will be worth bugging you phill to borrow it. I have always wondered what a sonic rpg would be like.

It's a shame they didn't reveal anything else about this at E3. The show itself was pretty lame this year, and Nintendo could have used something other than Wii Fit for their show.

E3 was horrible this year, and to top it off it wasn't open to the public.

Here are some screenshots (http://www.sonicfangameshq.com/forum/showpost.php?p=76506&postcount=43) of the game. There's some more further down too, including one of the battle system.

I'm not sure what to make of it so far. It looks like it might be a cross between a point-and-click adventure and a Final Fantasy style battler. The art is a little different from the usual Sonic style, but it might suit the RPG vibe.

Looks to be worth watching out for.
