Title: Your future dream Post by: Sir Phill on June 20, 2005, 01:40:26 am In your future when you're retired or just plain future (when you're 30 or 25 or whatever) what is your dream? What would you love to be doing at that time?
Myself, its to live just outside a small (I mean tiny) village in Ireland and to be an accomplished writer and just write up there. To have a town where everyone knows you're name. Would love it so much. Besides, Ireland is beautiful when its not raining :P Title: Your future dream Post by: Elvenfyre on June 20, 2005, 02:08:53 am Not to pull your dream down around you or anything, but. . .
Quote to be an accomplished writer Quote where everyone knows you're name. Where everyone knows you are name huh? :P I want sons and daughters. Lots. Title: Your future dream Post by: Sir Phill on June 20, 2005, 04:45:33 am Hah funny :(
Give me a break though, i've gotten about 8 hours of sleep these past three days and had just gotten back from a 7 hour drive :( Title: Your future dream Post by: Newts on June 20, 2005, 07:11:14 pm I want to go into space. Virgin Galactic (http://www.virgingalactic.com) will run their first passenger flight into space in 2008 and, although it'll be $200,000, I'm hoping that price will come down in the next thirty years.
I'm not a big fan of science fiction books or films, but some of my favourite games have been set in space (i.e. Beta Blocker and Frontier), and I love looking at the stars and things like that. I would love to be able to see what the human race will manage to do with space even after I'm gone - terraforming Mars, fighting off the Martian invasion, building carracks, life pods and so on. Shame that won't happen until after 2200. Elv - you're not talking about the cheesy soap opera, I hope. Phill - the best of luck with your dream; I sincerely hope you succeed. Title: Your future dream Post by: Sir Phill on June 20, 2005, 08:09:56 pm I'd love to go into space. Just to experience the feeling of 'flying' because of the 0 gravity. That and it would be incredible to step foot on the moon.
What you need to do newts, freeze yourself and get unfrozen in 200 years if we haven't blown it up by then :P Title: Your future dream Post by: Newts on June 20, 2005, 08:12:02 pm You're absolutely right.
I'd like to go into space to explore it, see what's floating out of our awareness at the moment. Can you imagine seeing those planets for the first time with your own eyes? Or how bright and clear the stars would be? I can't wait. Knowing my luck I'd wake up in two hundred years to find people still driving cars and talking about how space travel will be possible in the "next fifteen years" :newtstongue: Title: Your future dream Post by: Devlyn on June 20, 2005, 08:20:36 pm I'd like to die in 50 or so years and then be resurrected in the very far future, and experience the world in a completely different context :D
Title: Your future dream Post by: Newts on June 20, 2005, 08:21:26 pm You just copied my answer!
My new ambition is to kill Dev for stealing my ideas :newtstongue: Title: Your future dream Post by: Seanikins on June 21, 2005, 02:00:18 am I think it would be rather neat to survive through nuclear fallout To rebuild society and be a prominent member of the community.
Of course to be a martial arts master would be neat too...that old guy who can put his hand through a cinderblock without much effort. Title: Your future dream Post by: Elvenfyre on June 21, 2005, 03:16:44 am Nah I mean it, I want lots of daughters and lots of sons. The more the better. I don't mean it in a cheesy soap opera way either - nor do I want an army loyal to me to take over the world(though I may change my mind if my dream comes to fruition). It's just something I know I'd love to happen, but very well may not at all if I don't find a nice girl who also wants such things.
