We always need a checklist when the site gets rebooted, except this time the stuff on it might actually get done ;)

If you have any ideas / comments about the site, please leave them in this topic. The forums are a big priority, but it's taking me a while to get the hang of the skinning system used. It's not bad, but I've certainly had nicer experiences.

I'll make a checklist in this topic as things get added and fixed.

Forum link doesn't always work when you're not on the mainpage of the site. Or so I noticed ;)

Hmm, not sure what that problem is. Which page(s) caused the problem?

Hmmm... it seems to be fixed already :).

That's how good I am :P I'm guessing it was the "Latest Forum Blatherings" that was causing problems. It would show private topics, which would cause an error if not logged in. Fixed now ;)

I've made a few more changes over the past few days. The main site is still pretty ropey, but I'm experimenting with an offline version using the newest version of WordPress which is causing some problems. I'll try and get the majority of forum buttons changed soon, so at least it won't look quite so odd.

I've think I've done all of the important buttons now. A few admin ones need doing, but I thik I've got the most important ones. I don't think I'll ever skin forums for a living.

If you have any Shiny Sword/BABS/Whatever screenshots I can use I'll make some alternative banners. This site needs more Seolean :P

I've started adding some Shining Force sprites (http://www.shiningsource.net/shining-aid/graphics/character-sprites/) to the main site. There's loads more to be done, but it's a step in the right direction. If anyone wants to write a guide about using the sprite sheets in their language of choice, that would be pretty awesome ;)

I've also finally finished converting all of the old news to the new database. That was not a fun job, but it's nice to look back in time and see the way things were ;)

Just stopping in to say hi, I haven't been here in ages.  Good to see the place is still doing well.  I miss this place a lot.  I remember when it used to be my days mission to visit these forums.

I like the new site a lot.  I'd like to just point out that on the sprites page there's a small error where Amon is listed as Arthur.  Just thought I'd let someone know to fix it.

Otherwise, nice to see everyone again.  Hopefully I'll be visiting more often.

Nice to see you dropping by again Noma! Thanks for the bug report too, it's all fixed now. I really should get around to adding the rest of the sprites soon...

I just realised something.
The treasure chests in the forum are "the wrong way around" ?
ie: in shining force you open a chest, you've been there, done that.  Here when its open it means something new is there :E

lol, petty, but it just came to me.

@Elvenfyre: Yeah, I did think of that, but I think the open chest looks better for new posts. Plus it was easier to add new animations for hot posts etc ;)

I'm thinking of adding new post icons soon. Any suggestions/wants?

Hey after mentioning my old sprites I went to look to see if my old backgrounds were around. . . but I notice that shining aid is pretty much just shining force stuff with a couple of extra things. 
None of any of our old stuff? 
I know it wasn't exactly high quality, but either I'm a moron and can't see them or we've dumped 60% of our "source" graphics.

Nah, they're around somewhere, I just haven't got around to putting them online. I'll try and get them up this week :)

I've got your sprites, but not sure where the backgrounds are. I've done some digging, but can't find anything except a few pcx files in an old Shiny Sword release. If you find anything, send it my way and I'll put it online.

Some of those pcx files will be part of the collection.
I'll take a look next time I plug in my backups drive.  Who knows I might be able to find some of the Tassaria history to make up for some loss of Devlyns backup.

What's the deal on getting subforums for projects(like SMEE/BABS/SSCS does)? 
Do any of the current projects(say Peters) qualify?

If anyone wants a sub-forum for their project, a PM or request will do the trick. There's no real level they have to reach, but a decent amount of activity would help.

Added your sprites, and I'll try and get some backgrounds up soon :)
