Title: Suspension Bridge battle
Post by: Lazy Bum on December 25, 2007, 03:22:54 pm
I remember that battle having my favourite music theme in SFIII scenario one.
But i was looking for screenshots of that battle.

Does anyone have upclose screenshots of Synbios' sprite as well (map sprite, not battle cut scene one)?

And why was the suspension bridge battle so memorable? I can't remember.
Tanks? Bridge? Edmund betrayal? Cheesy voice-over when he was pushed off the cliff?

I love that battle. It has just about everything - loss, betrayal, surprise and redemption. It moves the story forward, but it's also a tactical challenge. Oh, and it looks and sounds great. It's one of the most memorable battles from Scenario 1, along with the train refugees and the Conrad battle. Even though the mechanics are not a huge leap ahead of the 2D ones, the bridge battle makes it look so much nicer ;)

I don't have any screenshots, but I'll see if Newts can grab some next time I speak to him :)

Who was pused off the cliff? I can't remember. I recall some cheesy voice over when he was pushed off.

Why is it called the Suspension Bridge battle though? Does the battle take place on a suspension bridge, or is it rather a non-suspension bridge battle with a lot of suspense?

Or am I completely off and is this actually a battle against monsters with suspenders? Or perhaps they're not even fighting for real, and the battle is merely represented by a suspenseful game of Bridge?

I am puzzled.

What the hell? I recall you are the one that likes to smear peanut butter on your face.
This irrational behaviour has since been transposed to the online world.

It's called the suspension bridge battle because the players like to play bridge while in animated suspension?
