Are you playing it or composing it in a program?

I like it!

I've only recently listened to the Shining Force soundtrack, but there's some neat stuff on there. Looking forward to hearing it with a guitar twist :)

Sounding good :) I wasn't sure guitars would suit that track, but it definitely works.

What's next? ;)

okay .. the battle theme is done.

i must stress that this is my favourite tune from the entire SF1 soundtrack ... and imo nothing can beat the original.  with that in mind, i set out to do the best i bloody could .... came no where near the awesomeness of the original but meh ... after approx 20 hours of fanny around with different styles and tunes and methods ... ive come up with a version that im gonna call a final version - yes theres plenty of room for improvement - im just sick of the song right now :P

so here it is

That's a really tough track to take on, but I think you did it justice. I would have liked the guitar to be a little stronger, but I can see why you did things the way they are. Either way, a good track :)

I'm looking forward to hearing the complete set - I've really liked the tracks you've done so far :)

Evil town theme? Interesting interpretation, I always thought it was something like a "final fight (of chapter)" theme. :)

update -

Finished track 14.  Ive had a little look into Darksols theme, and tried a few different approaches ... its almost impossible to replicate ... so ive hit a large stone in the road ... not sure how to proceed from here ;S will keep u all updated.

having tried and failed miserably at Darksols theme, i have located my problem, the backing melody is just played too fast. Im not good enuff on guitar to mimic it. As such, i will have to improvise the backing melody, which may compromise the authenticity and originality of the track.

Also, unlike the other tracks, there are not 1, not 2, not 3, but four lead channels (or lead guitars if u will) which all overlap to produce the end result. whilst I can record these individually, when overlapping that many lead guitars, it just sounds nasty. may have to drop some of the channels, or, worse still, record all lead guitar tracks from a digital synthesiser - which would clear up the nastyness in teh mix .. but wont sound particularly rock guitar-like.

running out of ideas ....

=[

You could always do a creative remix and change the tempo or composition a little. I know all the other tracks aren't remixes, but they were never designed to be played on instruments so don't be too worried that you can't play it :)

well its done, finally, really messed around with some stuff, tried many things, in the end i made an improv riff backing, heavily over-driven (and loud) bass lines, with several lead guitars ... its a bit of a mess, but meh :P it works ... kinda :P
