Most people here already have their own projects, and we're not exactly overflowing with members at the moment so it might take a while to get interest (plus you might get more if you don't hijack someone's thread )

Plus most of the people here are sick in the head and enjoy writing the engine

I'd love to work on SO at the moment, would be a break from my other project. Newts and I both agree that we'll stick to what we're best at, so he will compose more excellent music, and I shall code more crappy...stuff.

Art is the big problem at the moment, seeing as we will be doubling the res to 640 * 480 for technical reasons. My art is acceptable at low res, but not good enough for higher. I may put out a plea for artists in time, but for now I think I'll have to draw some placeholder art. Urg.

Shining Force 3 has a little bit of armour, and it works well. You can add resistance to certain types of armour if you're feeling brace - eg a piece of armour that protects you from fire, but is vulnerable again ice.

Armour strength seems to go up slower than weapon strength, but I haven't really played enough SF3.

The best way to balance is just to keep playing, as obvious as that is.
