31   Re: All Shining Force
There's a DS one now? If you're referred to Shining Force Cross then that's good, because I hoped it would be good.

SFIII is my favourite by far. Amazing, amazing game (if you don't mind two-thirds of it being in Japanese!)

32   Re: Shining Nuptials
Any particular reason you won't get married, Elv? The event you describe sounds to me a lot like a wedding! Wink

Here's a photo of me and Phil that I'm sure he won't mind me sharing. I tell you what - he scrubs up all right, that brother of mine Tongue

33   Re: A personal message
That sounds like a really tough thing to go through, but I'm glad she's on the road to recovery now. Give her my best wishes and I hope she gets well soon.

34   Shining Nuptials
With Ty having just tied the knot and everyone here growing old rather gracefully, I wondered if anyone here had got engaged or married and it had perhaps slipped my attention? I can't remember who everyone's significant others are - or even if they've been mentioned - but I thought I'd show some interest as I've been coming here for almost the last decade of my life (fuucckk...)

I'll start off then! In July I'm getting married to my partner of the last eight years, Hannah, on her 23rd birthday. We met online in January 2001 and were in a long distance relationship for over four and a half years (I think Ty can top that, though Tongue), until we moved in together in September 2005. Since then we've gone from strength to strength, and I proposed to her on her birthday 2007.

We're getting married in a country hotel in the Lake District, in a little chapel-style building towards the back. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it!

Definitely not an April Fools - I was his Best Man this past Saturday. With his permission I'll post some photos so you don't think we're completely mental Tongue

36   Re: just, wow!
Welcome back! It's always nice to have old users re-enter the fray with something positive and constructive Smiley

If you haven't listened to Shining Guitar yet, I recommend giving that a listen as you're working your way through the projects section - it'll get you in the mood for Shining goodness!

37   Re: Shining Guitar
Just downloaded the full album now - really impressed with it! Like you say they're really complicated tracks in the most part, with so much going on in terms of instruments and keys and scales and the like. I would never be able to come half as close as you, so I tip my hat to you in time-honoured Shining fashion!

38   Re: A present for Devlyn
I was disappointed to see the Nintendo bias on Etsy - everyone can do Mario or Link, but there's next to no Sonics or Alex Kidds. I spy a gap in the market!

39   A present for Devlyn
I would buy this for you, if I could afford it.

Portrait of Devlyn

In case the link doesn't show up, it's a needlework portrait of Bowie from Shining Force II, going for a masterly $100. Superb value, I'm sure you'll agree.

40   Are you a gamer?
This thought occured to me whilst I was catching up on the mountain of washing up I had to do.

Personally I'd say I'm still a pretty regular gamer, although I no longer really get to spend a lot of time on the great games like I used to. I spend quite a bit of time on Mario Kart Wii, and occasionally my DS if I get to it, but I haven't really had time to play my old favourites half as much as I want to.

Would you call yourself a gamer? Outside of the Shining games, do you play a lot of games? Do you even really play Shining games any more?

Oops! I guess the first rule of imitation should be "remember attention to detail" - I'm still posting with my original avatar!

42   Re: Bung Ole Ole Never Ending Thread - Vintage Classics Edition -
Public service message!

It's easy to spot the real Newts as he has posted far, far too many times here. He also has a very good-looking avatar and probably smells really nice, too.

Thank you, continue about your day!

We're only truly popular again when we all start to imitate each other and resurrect the last tram Tongue

44   Re: Shining Immortal Update 2
Sounds like good progress to me, Maestro.

Just one idea though - instead of building a new website, why not use the Shining Source itself? You can post worklogs, demos, updates and everything like that as well as having a private forum for you and the team. Would save a lot of unnecessary effort Smiley

45   Re: Bung Ole Ole Never Ending Thread - Vintage Classics Edition -
When we first moved into this house we had a loudmouthed Irish woman living underneath us, with a voice so shrill it's a wonder the windows survived every time she spoke. Well, I say "spoke" but she really just shouted everything, and we'd hear her at all times of day and night. It was like being stuck in an episode of Father Ted, only much, much less funny.

Anyway, this story doesn't really go anywhere but it lets me mention how happy I was when I saw her and her boyfriend loading their possessions on the back of a van and driving off! Sadly they've been replaced by an extremely argumentative couple, who seem to want to do nothing except scream at each other about how hungry and tired they both are. It makes me wonder whether our neighbours complain about any bizarre rituals Hannah and I have...
