Well after being able to survive in V.203 after our Relegation some seasons back LGU has actually managed to compete. I would say im a runner for the 2-5th spot in the league (one hell of an interesting league...very challenging)
My question is wether or not i hang onto my star innermid or do i sell 'em and grab a nice trainee.
Toni Anero has long been sold..replaced by my new powerhouse David Delgado.
World Class PM with Weak in Passing, defending, and set pieces Not to mention Excellent Stamina.
He's only 22 thus far and could be nearing the end of his trainable career. I could sell him in preperation for grabbing some decent wingers or i could just let him ride out another year or two and see where he goes.
Kindof hard when you get attached to your star player

Keep him around next season and try to go for championship? I'm having a 23 year old inner mid myself, even though that man is mythical .

I recently bought a mythical playmaker with passable passing. Excellent deal and all, but his wages are bad.

With yet another push at this I've decided to give it a go.
Signed up today for Oceania, - not that many teams it seems (no waiting list either) hopefully I'll be able to clean up ^_^

Well since I haven't played before I don't have many ideas of my own.
If you can help, let me know.
I read some mentions of something called "classic training" (which I guess an understanding of will help me even if I don't go with classic training) - can you point me to an article or explain?
Otherwise I'll be following a cyclical training model.
For the first 3 seasons formation 5-4-1 defense training. Sell 2 defenders, get a decent GK and forwards and mids, and do 3-5-2 winger training 2 seasons, then buy mids and 3-5-2 playmaking training 3 seasons.

Well this kind of pisses me off:
When I signed up yesterday and received the email, there were 0 people on the waiting list for my region. 0 people had received accounts yesterday.
So I told my online mates from NZ to join up let's play it together for the added excitement of kicking each others arses. They signed up at least 3 or 4 hours after I did....
So by the time I went to bed there was 18 people on the waiting list.
I felt confident I would be first to get a team.. and come on today - no team for me, there are 7 people on the waiting list and 11 people got a team yesterday.
ARGH.
serves me right I knew I should have gotten a couple weeks headstart haha.

OK so I have my team and the first match passed me by and I won it woohoo. [cheer] but anyway I've been setting things up and can't find how to change my field setup to the 5-3-2 I want....
My friendly is showing up and I can choose people for positions.. but no button to change setup : /
In training I get a list of my capability in each setup but clicking on these just takes me to a help file on what the abilities mean.. not what I want.
help!

Ok,
The way formations are acheived is how you set your player 'behaviors' in the match orders page.
My friendly just went by and i dont have another so i cant tell you exactly which positions can be set as 'extra central defender' but its easy enough to find when you know where to look.
What you do have to consider is which positions your assigning Extra Central D. Since you want to acheive 5-3-2 then someone in the midfield will have to be assigned to Extra Central D. Your defense is higher but your midfield may take a hit from the absence of a player. But if your training D then thats your strong suit and it wont matter anyway
You have to stick to the formations given otherwise you'll end up loosing training for the week which sucks.
So just to reclarify: In the match orders screen for your friendly underneath where you choose people for positions is what your looking for, the positions in one (or both) of the inner midfield areas can be set to Extra D. I also beleive one or both of the forward boxes can be set as this as well just in case you wanted 5-4-1 formation. Im not sure but i think maybe wingers can be set as Extra D but i cant confirm that since my friendly just went by
Hope that helps!
