Hannah bought her computer from Aldi and got a rather good deal on it. I bought my new one from Dell - thank goodness it wasn't Tiny
Apparently they're now selling laptops in Woolworths, and Asda sell lots of TVs and electronic goods and so forth. No doubt in a few years' time you'll be able to buy anything in a supermarket, and there'll be no other kind of shops around.

Here it can still be cheaper and you can make a better pc if you buy the parts and build it yourself, but it really depends on what packages are being rolled out.
Laptop prices tumbling of course is changing all that as I speak.
Oh you, pretty chitty bang bang, pretty chitty bang bang we love you.

the sempron being a 32-bit processor is prof that i'm misinformed. that means that SOMEONE HAS BEEN LYING TO ME!!!!!!!
Anyways, I scrapped the idea of a new computer for the idea of a new PC. Pocket PC, that is.
it ended up not helping me as much as I thought it would, though. Contrary to the popular belief, the IPAQ version of Blender doesn't work. and worst of all, there isn't a good mod tracker for PPCs. The only thing I can do with it is make some documents with Pocket Word (which I see as better then the desktop version because of a handwriting recognizer and easier addition of audio to documents; the microphone is right on the top). However, i will find a good tracker and a good 3d modeler!!!!

Pocket PCs are crap.
If almost anything breaks on it, the whole thing is rendered useless.

I'm pretty sure they're not designed to run 3D modelling apps, full scale word processing or audio apps, but then what would I know?
I've used mine for nearly a year now, and it's uber handy for most things. Great for showing photos, capturing notes and keeping tabs on what I should be doing and when. Personally, I think it's the best piece of technology I've bought in a long time. Granted, it takes a while to get used to, but after that it's plain sailing.

I've been wanting to get a handheld for a while now, i will eventually. I want to make a program for one, maybe one that allows me to access my server, that would be a nice showoff piece.

I'd assume so. Flash is even (relatively) slow on a 700Mhz. Then again, I think my Pocket PC is 333Mhz or something. His might not be as cheap as mine.
I might be able to fix mine, though I doubt if "someone" will be able to pay for it.
