The whole thing smacks of "no shit Sherlock" to me.
"I thought that I'd spend my whole life doing what I've been doing for the last 9 years. Reality has kicked in however"
Unfortunately it guarantees a year of unprecedented "oh Moogie you're so great, let me crawl up your colon" snivelling. I'm sure it won't stop after she's gone, either.
Well, there's something to look forward to, at least.

Gotta admit, though, she's done some intense shit for the whole Shining series.

I'm just bitter because, despite the fact she knows all about this place and what we're doing here, I got the impression she was trying to horn in on our niche with the Shining Fanwork forum, and giving people the impression that Tateru was the best way to make a Shining fangame, despite Devlyn's BABS engine being superior, in my eyes.
I'm not sure the Shining scene is what it is because of her - I think it's all in one place because of her. Without her we'd still all be Shining fans, just spread out in different places.

I wouldn't really know the best engine for making a game, considering I've never really gotten into any game making, coding, or stuff like that.
As for the Shining Fanwork forum, I think that's just a place for people to post drawings that they do.
I would, if I could draw.
4 minutes to computer shutdown... damn library hour long time limit.

We post Bowie Online updates, and I posted things about Shining Forever in the past. People just aren't drawn to fanwork very much, even though fangames are probably all this series has left to look forward to.

SC: dead again, dun dun dun.
Yeah, posting DSC updates was even more pointless than posting them here, no one gave a shit, yet all the people who said they were gunna do the game that had stupidly bad grammar managed to pick up all the attention.

Ha, I can agree with that. It seems like everyone wants to make the game themselves because they think anything in progress doesn't involve them. If they aren't part of the making, the assume it's just another crappy idea. In reality, while the workers are making progress, the dreamers are getting attention.

Hence my recent article on "how to make a Shining fangame" - just like with all creative processes, the frontmen/women are the ones who get the attention. Sure, it might be their idea, but they can't do it on their own. Not even Devlyn and Ty work alone.
The thing that got me about the whole Shining Fanwork thing is that people posted their fangames there, despite the fact that here we're much better-equipped to give advice and help with those kinds of things, what with experienced coders, designers and so forth.
I'm so bitter these days. I'm sure I was happy once...

Of course we can easily remedy that by releasing enough cool programs .
And we really should breathe new life into the Articles section .

It's on my "To-do" list I might tweak the site a little this week, and try and get the functionality actually working, as opposed to just being half-finished like it is now Everyone is still welcome to email me articles and I'll get them up asap

I'd always figured it was just talk. Announcing something like that a year in advance gives plenty of time for a mind change. But with the sparce updates there in the past 6 months maybe it'll happen.
Dislike SFC all you want, there's no denying it's kept the shining community together more than anything though, it will be a loss. Though I don't think it's getting shut down entirely, but then again it's not like many details or much info has been stated.
The FC patch has breathed some air into SFC. BTW I'd of never known about this place if it weren't for SFC (not that I post much, but I do read quite a bit of this place )

To be honest i've always thought the people at SFC take the Shining Series too seriously, to an unhealthy extent. What keeps me around is the fan games which i find to be challenging projects.
