Although, disjoint else-if statements are actually faster in some programming languages. Wink
Yes, that's right, and that's why it's absolutely correct to use them.

17   Re: Reworking the SF2 C# project code
Your idea to make an editor is excellent! I wish your project will have success and my code will be helpful for you!

18   Re: SF2 Remake Code
Hi, Aura4's here!
It's great you find my sourcecode useful and want to code something based on it! I wish you good luck with your adventure.
Too bad I don't have time to continue coding the Shining Force 2 Remake at the moment, but let's see, maybe I'll have more time some day.

19   Re: SF 2 Remake Source Code
Hi there,

I've decided to release the source code of my SF 2 Remake. At the moment I don't have much time to continue working on the remake, and it would be cool if somebody else did! I've sent the source code to Ty and asked him to put it online to shiningsource.net.

20   Re: Shining Immortal Update 2
Cool! When will we get to see a demo/preview?

21   Re: Update - Shining Immortal
It's more work to include more characters in your game as you will have to draw all of them. But it will give the player more options. You may either try to use all the characters equally, training each of them to the maximum, or choose the characters you want to use and abandon the others. It just shouldn't be like this that only one possible party is good and the other characters are obsolete - then it wouldn't make sense. There should be several possibilities to have a good party.

Some players will prefer a party with many magicians, others will have a party with many knights and warriors. It may be that somebody prefers not to use any bowmen, for example.

22   Re: yet another project :P
Evil town theme? Interesting interpretation, I always thought it was something like a "final fight (of chapter)" theme. Smiley

23   Re: Greetings
Well, I see now you are a great musician.

24   Re: Greetings
Maestro: Your ideas are good, but do you also have a skilled team of programmers, graphicians and musicians? All of us have ideas, but the implementation is where most of us fail.

25   Re: Shining Force II Remake?
OK. I've not decided yet if I will make the final game windowed or full-screen.

26   Re: Shining Force II Remake?
What would interest me: Is the game displayed in a window or in full-screen mode on your PC? On mine, it's in windowed mode, but it happened once that after switching tasks, it suddenly became full-screen.

27   Re: Shining Force II Remake?
I've talked to Aaron Stebner, one of the developers of XNA Game Studio, and we came to the conclusion that the following files should be sufficient to get Shining Force 2 Remake to run:

Windows XP:
DirectX 9.0c: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=en
.NET 2.0 Servicepack 1: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=15fb9169-4a25-4dca-bf40-9c497568f102&displaylang=en
XNA Framework 2.0 Redistributable: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=78244

Windows Vista:
DirectX 9.0c: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=en
.NET Framework 3.5: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&DisplayLang=en

28   Re: In what language were the original Shining Force games coded?
According to http://romhustler.net/roms/saturn Sega Saturn games were mostly coded in C, but that doesn't say anything about Mega Drive games.

29   In what language were the original Shining Force games coded?
I recall reading many years ago that in the 16 bit era video games were coded in Assembler, but this source may not be reliable. Shining Force seems complex enough to make coding it in Assembler difficult. So I wonder in what language it was really programmed.

30   Re: Shining Force II Remake?
That's great news. I was told that the problem often lies with DirectX 9.0c because it's possible that only some parts of it are installed on the PC, and then the user thinks it's installed completely and so doesn't even try the download links.
