Yes its a thread for a supposedly dead fan-game that never came up with a demo. Reasons a plenty, but i'm not going to bore you with them.

Progress has been 0% because i haven't worked on Shining Truth for ages. Been doing music, studying for O'levels, guitar.

But i do intend to start work on Shining Truth soon. However, it would go real slowly, due to exams. Loads of them. And i'm waiting for Game Maker 6 to come out

I basically wanted to ask a simple question. What type of style would be visually appealing in SF style battle attacks? As in, u go into the cinematic parts when u attack.

In SFII, they were pretty stagnant. In SFIII, they were marvellous. But i'm not about to do anything 3D. However, i can sorta do a pseudo 3D thing. Like in Star Ocean where the battles are 3D backgrounds but the characters are 2D. Or something like that.

I really don't know. Programming is not an issue. Its more of the aritistic resources, sadly. Any ideas?

Oh and yes, the battle system will still be in isometric
Isometric is great fun. A pain sometimes but great fun nonetheless.

Oh Dear Beckham! How embarrassing to have missed a penalty against his former Man-U goalkeeper, Barthez. The funny part was that Barthez said that last time he practised penalties with Beckham and he knew the chances of the ball going left were high. Use a little brains Beckham! Don't tell me that shaved that off too!

Newts takes out his handy dandy dictionary to induce some hellacious grammatical torture. "Its football, not soccer!" shouts Newts, who fumes at the American Seany. Newts throws dictionary at Seany's face and shows him a lesson in spelling.  Sean crumbles in fear, not knowing what to do, but takes out a small American flag, and hums the "Star Spangled Banner".
Newts goes for his finishing move, the grammatical slam...just then Seany takes out a secret weapon - the Pipe-O-Justice.

The Pipe-O-Justice is unbeatable! Hence, Seany wins

Nick vs. Devlyn

Devlyn puts on some warpaint first by smearing some peanutbutter and next, drinking some apple juice for extra energy.

Nick, armed with drumsticks, attempts to double-stroke devlyn's head. Unable to look at the ugly sight (and smell) of dev's peanutbutter smeared face, he misses. Dev then shows him his exam results, which leaves Nick in trauma. Dev then finishes him off with the Shiny Sword. Nick is defenseless after the Shiny Sword and exam results

Seriously, pondering about communism is just as bad as pondering over life. It can get uttlerly confusing, there doesn't seem to make much meaning, and there are always conflicting opinions!

Communism can make life so pointless, that its no longer a life. Its just an existence. Off course, its debateable. Then again. the communist leaders of the USSR often had conflicting opinions on communism (Take Stalin vs. Gorbachev).

Communism denies the existence of God or anything of the supernatural. Humans are defined as no better than animals, as in the end, when simplified, we all are made of particles. Hence, communism tend to "manage" humans. Equal existence as opposed to "living it up". I might be wrong, but from research, this is what i found, tho bias

So that really makes life as pointless as heck.

Check this out too. If 'To live is to die', then why live in the first place? Might as well die rite? Probably the thing that separates us from death is the pain barrier. Its not as easy to die (arguable )

Ok, nudging back into topic : Life is as meaningful as you make it. Revolutionists find it meaningful in creating revolutions and overthrowing governments. Michael Jackson finds it meaningful to sleep with young 12 year old boys, in an innocent way. Musicians find it meaningful to make music for the pure joy of it. Bush finds it meaningful to give error-loaded speeches. Anti-bush'ers find it meaningful to nitpick his speeches
