Almost every project here has to build it's own tile/sprite engine & re-invent the wheel. Consoles specific for this purpose would serve pretty cool IMHO (i noticed that in Kosh's SFFC GBA port).

What about putting a console programming section to the main? I'm aware of the fact that they're not easy to manipulate, but once we learn how to program them the results might be cool Wink

The only person i know here that is interested with console programming is Straus, but maybe there's more...

Well, if you can find multiple Shining projects that make use of console programming (as in two or more), there may be a point for making a forum for it.

One project alone might not suffice though, as in that case we might as well add a JAVA forum, a Flash forum, a GameMaker forum etcetera.

Now that I think of it, perhaps a general programming forum might cover the load for you guys?

Eh, I guess you've misunderstood me...

I meant a platform specific topic, not language specific (however, as far I know, there's only asm, C/C++ and BASIC for GBA).
You mean a general programming forum for pseudo discussion?? IMHO this's a good idea Smiley

I think what Dev meant is that a section devoted to console fangames would seem a little deserted. And if I've understood you right, Cortez, you're suggesting we have separate forums for different consoles - ie a GBA development forum, a Mega Drive forum etc. In my opinion, if we're going to split fangames up according to console/programming language/number of consonants, that's a bit silly. A general programming  forum, with topics within that catering for different languages/platforms, is a much better idea, for me anyway.

I'll set up a General Programming Forum then. If it gets grossly overcrowded, we can always split it up later Smiley.

Actually Newts, I was suggesting to have a doc section on consoles (in the main site maybe), and one forum for consoles, not seperate forum for each console. To clarify: PC, Console. Anyway...
