Hi guys,

I just completed the ranged attack sequence. It looks a little shifty at times, but I'll tweak it later on Wink.

Anyway, I decided to do a little revision on weapon ranges. Here are the attack types I'll be using in BABS 2:

-Melee attacks. Have a range of either 1 or 2 squares and have a special melee attack sequence. Examples are swords, axes and spears Smiley.
-Ranged attacks. Have a range of 3-4 squares.  Examples are bows, crossbows and slings. There will no longer be archers with a range of 2, however. Hopefully people won't miss that too much (if they do, I can implement it anyway Wink.
Ranged attackers can't attack adjacent targets!
-Siege attacks. Siege weapons will have a range of 5+ squares, but cannot attack targets who are within two squares of the siege engine. Examples are Heavy Ballista's, Catapults and Trebuchets Wink.

Anyway, except for the documentation I've got enough stuff for the beta. So .... expect a release within days Wink.

P.s. The only archer sprite I currently have is a grayscaled Elric. Perhaps someone can help me out in that department? Wink

Yet another update here:

I just added some music to the game. I haven't been able to find a decent .it or .mp3 plugin yet, so I guess it'll have to be midi for the time being. Wink

Still, I'm sort of wondering whether to put the music on or off by default. What do you guys think? Smiley

Some bugs / irregularities:

1) at first the tilechooser did not display properly.. Then suddenly it did! YaY!.. I havent reproduced this yet..

2) how do i scroll the tile chooser? It wont scroll for me, but the bar certainly looks like it should

3) BABS2 and ALT+TAB: i get a blank BABS2 screen.. Yucky.. If i click on something it activates and then shows.

Thanks for the bug reports dude!

1)Rendering bugs (as in parts not having loaded in time to display properly) are not uncommon in SMEE. However the F5 button will perform a small miracle for you. In due time I should be able to make more solid graphics, but with 'F5' for the time being it's only a medium priority thing Smiley.

2)Oddly enough, the scrollbar doesn't work in the Beta version yet. However, the top and bottom arrow of the scrollbar do work when you click on them. Guess it's time to implement the bar itself too one of these days, as I can imagine others getting stuck on that too Wink.

3)This bug sounds more serious though, and I'll take a look into that. Your error output will certainly help with that. Thanks a lot! Cheesy
