WIN FOR ME Cheesy

Date:     25/09/2005 at 04.00
MatchID:    52711681
Arena:    Shibby Hotspurs Arena
Crowd:    2184

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 2184 to Shibby Hotspurs Arena. Hotspurs tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Parkes - Latham, Smale, Kasnaferis, Palfrey - Atyeo, Burton, Thomas, Nash - Chan, Hurst.

Shining had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. Lineup: Badham - Smith, Fosdyke, Kewell, Otomo, Spruce - Paut, Pearce, Brabham - Buckler, Wedderburn.

A well placed corner kick from Juan Paut was followed by Nathan Buckler?s hard but accurate header. The nice combination meant goal for Shining. The result now 0-1. Some fine manouvering on the left lead to an 10th minute Shining goal, making it 0 - 2. Chester Fosdyke was noted down as the scorer. By now Shining were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 2. Shining held the ball, with a clear 52 percent possession rate.

Shining?s Allan Pearce made it through the home teams defence in the 55th minute, and had only to place the ball in an unguarded goal when the home side?s defender sprang up from the left, clearing the ball on the line. Shining came close to extending their lead as Mitchell Wedderburn delivered a long range shot from the right but the angle was too sharp, and the shot hit the side of the goal. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Shining's Tatsuhito Otomo got himself booked. Shining held the ball, with a clear 66 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Hotspurs player was without a doubt Daryl Palfrey. Josh Chan on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Shining player was without a doubt Chester Fosdyke. Trent Kewell was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 2.

Yes, well today I played my divisions leaders (who hadn't had a goal scored against them previously) and we drew, 1-1.. so I'm quite happy.

He shouldn't have underestimated me Wink

I think I have this one in the bag.

Quote

The match is in progress, 13 minutes of the second half have been played.
8222 spectators had come to Stadio Delved this cloudy day. Gostapo started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Wooders - Chady, Monaghan, Fackrell, Mullane - Summerfield, McFadden, Langmack, Hoare - Mack, Peters.

Shining started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Badham - Smith, Fosdyke, Otomo, Spruce - Kasimatis, Pearce, Rose, Bramhall - Buckler, Wedderburn.

Shining saw most attack opportunites on the wings. In the 9th minute cheers broke out as Harry Mack found his way through the guests' central defense line, clipping the 1 - 0 goal in for Gostapo. Some brilliant football from the visitor's right wing resulted in a 10th minute levelling of score as Shining's Nathan Buckler put the ball in the net for 1 - 1. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field in the 20th minute left Shining's Allan Pearce completely free to score. 1 - 2 for the visitors. After 26 minutes Shining's Ian Rose contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. In the 31st minute, Shining put themselves up 1 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Chester Fosdyke. Gostapo had to make a substitution in the 34th minute. Garrett McFadden limped off the field and was replaced by Neil Mulray. Gostapo's Neil Mulray cut towards the middle in the 38th minute, recieving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defense line, putting the 2 - 3 goal away. Halftime score was 2 - 3. Gostapo held the ball, with a clear 52 percent possession rate.

The away team's Leonard Bramhall took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right in the 57th minute increasing Shining's lead to 2 - 4.

I've been playing for 30 minutes some weeks and not at all others.. managing to stay afloat.  I haven't obviously been playing many friendlies but I hope to change that this season and make some dough training now that I can move my 30 year old ex-captain up to coach.
I've found the fact that training modes are constantly changing tough to decide on what to do.

I didn't win my division last season(my first season) but it looks like I should win it this season.

My question is, what happens then.. do I get a choice of whether I go up to the next division or do they force me?  If I get a choice, do you recommend I take the step up or not?

Nope, you either promote to the next division or you have to play a Qualification Match, depending on your performance compared to top ranking teams in other leagues Smiley.

So I came second in my series thanks to some careful posturing Wink

My big news is that I will have a piece in the ezine Between The Lines from the Bottom Division Federation.

Don't know if any of you see it, but it usually has it's latest (weekly) edition linked from the right hand menu most of the time.

The issue is published this weekend and is part 1 of a weekly soap series.

I'm top in my series with a 5 point buffer, but about to play the 3 next best teams in the series over the last 3 games.

Nail biting really, I really want to promote this season so that I can see the difference it makes to the game.

I should have a cool million at the end of the season and will probably spend it on my arena, though some second thoughts are shooting through my mind that I won't be getting very big crowds if i lose most of my games in my new div.

so I'm still humming and harring.

I'm 1st in my division now, with a lot of luck I might be able to promote to the II Cheesy

I won!

Yep.  Been undefeated for 13 weeks (since my cup loss) so I'm happy about that.  Just spent $900,000 on my arena to take me to 17000 seats.

This qualifies me for autopromotion, even with 2 draws in the season, so yeah!  should be interesting to see where I end up in V.
