The red card was completely unfounded. A direct red! I thought that was hardly a yellow.

To be honest I think the standard of refereeing has been quite high on the whole; most refs seem to want to let the game "flow" (make me a pundit!) but the Portugal-Holland ref was really poor, and by the sounds of it the Italy one was too.

Well you see there's a good explanation. I missed the penalties and somehow got completely confused about who had actually won when I wrote the message. Then this morning on TV they were saying about Germany winning and then I realised that I was thinking it was Argentina...but it wasn't. Big oops...and apologies...

Predictions for today:

Portugal 1 - 1 England AET, England to lose 2-4 on penalties. Easy.

England seem to have picked up during the past couple of games but I'm not sure whether they're going to get much further especially with Owen injured. I'd have a guess at 0-0 before ET. England should be able to hold out with their ace defence even if the attack is lacking. But then Portugal will score the golden goal coz of England being absolutely knackered by then.

Also, I'm still convinced that Rooney will end up being sent off before the tournament is finished...the rough bugger...

I think it'll be a very tight match with just the one goal between the teams. I'll plump for France 1-0 Italy, although I'd like Italy to win.

I got it right
