The Shining Source

I've been playing with this and I thought it would be fun to show everyone where I am in the world.  You can get the software free from:

I've zoomed in on Auckland.
You can see we are on an isthmus.  We are divided very easily into north, south, west and central.  You can see my "home" marker, which is just at the start of south auckland.


Here is a closer look.  You can see central auckland as marked, and then residential area until where you see all the large white roofed buildings, which is industrial.   My house is just beside this large industrial area at the start of the residential area in South Auckland.


Finally I thought I would show you our mainstreet and tallest building.  It is the skytower you can see here, with our main street on the right "Queen St".



New Zealand has a population of about 4.1 million souls, with 1.3 million in Auckland.  We're one of the few cities in the world to have harbours on two bodies of water(Pacific Ocean, and Tasman Sea).

Very impressive, Elv! I always had you down as a city slicker owing to your street smarts and ability to steal sweets from small children.

I'd love to show you my new house but unfortunately Google Earth doesn't want to install on this hunkajunk, so when we get PCs and 'net access at my new house next week I'll post again with aerial shots showing the splendour of my new house.
