He's got a point.. can we get a plugin that stops these guys? something that asks you to type out the words in a picture or something to get an account?

No captcha for this site I'm afraid. They're just too annoying, and can easily be beaten. I'll try blocking the actual bots from the server.

Things should be better now. I've tweaked phpBB to block bots, so we'll see how things go. Let me know if there's any weirdness.

So much for that idea. Added a (crappy) registration captcha and another hack to weed out bots and they still seem to be cropping up every few hours.
Back to the drawing board.

Very odd. I would've thought phpBB had better bratwurst protection available, but obviously not. Still, I'm here 24/7, so it's no bother
