I've tried creating a Shining fangame using Rosebud AI. My prompt was the following:

"Turn-based, tactical role-playing game akin to Shining Force 2, fantasy scenario with elves, dwarfs, orcs, humans, centaurs, wizards, fairies, sorcerers, sages, many difficult battles requiring good strategical thinking, many different spells to cast both for attacking and healing purposes, a rich variety of items and weapons to equip, alternative paths to promote the character class using hidden items, an interesting story involving dragons and a princess"

You can see the result here: https://rosebud.ai/p/1e58e438-142b-4ef2-aef3-20534f9904cc

What do you think about it? It's definitely not so good as the original game but considering that it would have taken months to develop a game of this kind without AI...?

Great! Thank you very much! I also created a couple of images using Midjourney. I don't think an average human graphic artist could do any better.

3   Re: The Wheel of Morality Keeps on Rollin'
I wish you a merry christmas as well! I've been working on Mega Force 3 for a while and maybe it will be released next year, let's see.

A hint: Move your party slowly so that you can fight each enemy separately. Use Caryn to heal, use Tassi to fight, let Jacob stay behind. When Tassi reaches level 2 he becomes strong enough to defeat a banana with just one blow. This will make bananas rather easy enemies from the second battle on.

Thanks for posting a news item at the front page!

6   Re: Is anybody interested in playing a Shining Force style game?
Good news: You can now find a demo version of my game at my homepage: http://www.hugi.scene.org/adok/miscellaneous/megaforce_demo_0_1.zip

The demo reflects the current state of development. You can play the first six battles.

7   Re: Is anybody interested in playing a Shining Force style game?
The game is making progress and I have already created the first 5 battles. It is a harder game than Shining Force, which will make experts happy. Developing the game is a lot of fun for me and I am really happy since it has been a dream of mine for a long time to create a new game in the style of Shining Force.

Hi there,

I started working on my own Shining style game. You can find a couple of screenshots at my blog: http://adokhugi.livejournal.com/

Working title: "Mega Force"

9   Re: I actually finished a game
Oh, I just recalled it was Ludum Dare 24, not 48.

10   Re: I actually finished a game
The Monster Mash game is well made, but too hard. Gonna take a look at the other games. I also participated in a game dev compo recently, Ludum Dare 48. My game is available here (binaries: http://www.hugi.scene.org/adok/miscellaneous/evolution.zip, source code: http://www.hugi.scene.org/adok/miscellaneous/evolution_source.zip).

11   Re: Development on BABS has resumed
I found it pretty hard, too, but that's because I gathered only 2 members for the party and then entered the sewer battle. Thanks to your hints it will be easier. Smiley

12   Re: Development on BABS has resumed
No, I just didn't visit shiningsource.net. Downloading now. Thanks!

13   Re: Development on BABS has resumed
I'd be interested in an alpha of your game.

14   Re: Is anybody interested in playing a Shining Force style game?
Yesterday I had the idea to develop a game that is a mix of Civilization and Shining Force. You have several towns and must conquer the opponent's towns. Each town builds units. Some towns build only warriors, others build bowmen, knights, magicians, healers and birdmen. With barracks you can increase the level of the new units. The fighting system is the same as in Shining Force. What do you think of this idea?

15   Is anybody interested in playing a Shining Force style game?
Lads,

I created Shining Force 2 Remake 4 years ago. The engine could be used to make new Shining Force style games. I have thought several times of doing so, but I wonder if there is any interest at all to play such games. Currently I lack motivation.
