According to Many it's very frustrating to lose to special events, because it seems you can't do anything against them.

This form of permission is very amusing because it seems to be so very abusable.

My experience with Special events is that they always appear in games where there's a standstill (high defenses) or a form of equality between the teams.
This topic is meant to share opinions with you on special event teams.

It seems that a few things should be added in these teams.

Header Playmakers: since no other specialty is good for playmakers and they greatly help scorong corners and other Se's header MF are great !
(thinking of picking those with scoring at least passable and high set pieces ) Unpredictable Sucks ! I have had several goals against due to this event

Wingers: Ohhh shit i though playing with two towards middle or none was the bomb, but these bastards are sadistical Special event machines..
Quick is great, unpredictable is great, experience is great they seem to get the long shot SE very often too....

So i advice an unpredictable experienced winger with equal scoring, winger and setpieces for a mean SE machine

For example A solid experience/exc winger/pas sco/exc setpieces
playmaking helps though.. but who cares, you're not winning on posession Tongue ( passing helps for the unpredictable or use quick wingers for budget )

Forwards: Experience talks bigtime, also Head and set pieces of course
Unpredictable rules too if they have enough passing.

Defenders.. ehhhhh they suck.. Only setpieces + scoring are good it seems.. experienced is great against goal events based on EXP.

Weather events... they suck, forget those

Im going to pressure all the way after i'ce sold my retirement home and train ... tadaaaaaaa Set pieces..... combined with pressing play

Be sure to look at my team in a few weeks, and i'll tell you if i've screwed up my team for nothing..

I can't remember what i was trying to forget

Nice post munkeyboy,

1 minor thing, Defenders suck in your oppinion.

I have a a couple of unpredictable defenders with at least passable passing and outstanding defending. I have to agree I havent seen any special effents. I could have but I didnt reconized em. How should they look like?

Quick is best for offensive wingers since weather only causes quick players to lose defending and scoring (i think). I have two quick wingers and they generate alot of winger and quick events.

But even despite that. Think about it, how common are technical forwards these days? Wink

Master seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Proving his experience, Patrik Rosenlind scored 0-1 for Master after putting some pressure on the the enemy defence at a critical moment. Jeroen Burger made a superb strike at the goal in the 11th minute with a long shot coming in from straight in front of the goal, but one of the visitors defenders got a foot in and warded it off to a corner. Loosvogelss Appie van den Brekel got himself booked after a foul. Lars H?kansson made a superb strike at the goal in the 31st minute with a long shot coming in from straight in front of the goal, but one of the visitors defenders got a foot in and warded it off to a corner. Mathias Rolf Wiek was just a finger?s breadth away from an equaliser for Loosvogels, but Jes?s Mola managed to ward the closing shot off for a corner. Loosvogels had to manage with a reduced squad from the 37:th minute on, as Mario De Backer got sent off for a foul in a free situation. Due to a severely mistimed tackle,Patrik Rosenlind spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 1. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Master, with an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.

Mathias Rolf Wiek pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, in the 63rd minute, wove through the guests whole central defense line and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. Clever playing that showed his experience rendered Patrik Rosenlind a good chance to score, but the shot hit the crossbar. Master took the lead in the games 73rd minute with 1 - 2 after some elegant plays down the middle. M?ximo Celada was the scorer. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area, but at last Master?s Thierry Stooker was able to shove the ball in. 1-3. Thierry Stooker was, after 75 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors lead with a well placed diving header but home side keeper Stefano Velazco saved. Master held the ball, with a clear 54 percent possession rate.

Most important Loosvogels player was Lodewijk Swagemakers. Lars H?kansson on the other hand, had a terrible day. Master?s best player was Jes?s Mola. Thierry Stooker on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 3.

Loads of SE''s in this match

I can't remember what i was trying to forget

Focusing on SE's only means you don't have to boost your attack too much. Defense and midfield is business as usual.
