When Mage of Blackest Night mentioned us working on one project, an idea poped into my head.  I don't know if anyone here is into writing, but I am.  I figured we could put together a story somehow related to SF, sort of like our 'One word story thread', only with sentences.  A fanfic if you will.  If this is a good idea, vote it.  After we see who agrees and who doesn't, we'll either start with those who want to do this, or just drop this topic.

Also, don't vote no just because you hate me.  :lol:

It sounds like a good idea and I will happily be a writer in this orgy of fan-fictioning forum style.

Well the idea itself isn't so bad, but I think you'd really need to write more than a sentence at a time, for continuity's sake. Maybe you could write a paragraph/page/chapter each, and then send it to the next person in line rather than posting it up on the forum, for fear of two people posting to the same extract. In principle it could work, it just needs a bit more tweaking. Good luck

Why not just start a message board RP right away then?

Yes, I agree with Newts ( :shock: ) we should first make a list of people in order, and then they will write in that order.  A paragraph will probably do fine, but I will tend to go longer, page, w/e, but I don't know about writing a whole chapter, because that will destroy the concept of a "group writing project", the story will become the person's who writes a whole chapter.  

So, I would say, a para. or a page.  And we will need to know all who voted yes so we can put htem in a list.

Thanks for that Newts, its a great idea.  I'll put everyone in order of their votes and posts, 1 page each (try not to go overboard), and each chapter composed of 5-10 pages.  So far:

Page 1: Me  
Page 2: Satan

Also, it might not be a bad idea to at least have a rough agreement on the story's basics - characters, when it's set , what's going to happen etc. - before starting. There's nothing worse than writing a fabulous piece of prose, only to read "AND THEN FROM OUT OF NOWHERE PENN APPEARED AND ATTACKED MAX WHO WAS ATTACKING BOWIE AS WELL AND THEN MITULA APPEARED AND LAUGHED HAHAHA". You get the point

Once again, Newts comes up with a great idea.  We will need more participation before we get a little too detailed with this whole process.

a Ye olde RPG would kick being we never got that d&d campaign going. Im a writer myself and it SOUNDS like a good idea, but, i agree with newts lets actually write somthing worth reading instead of somthing completely stupid

Okay, so I'll make an introduction, instead of the first page.  This way, we have something to build off of without having something stupid.  Lets agree on some character first.  Just so you know, heres the way it's set up when we're ready to start:

Intro: Me
Page 1, Ch.1: Satan
Page 2, Ch.1: Sir Phill
Page 3, CH.1: Alberto

2 or 3 more volenteers and we should be good to start actually writing.

It's about time we got some people to find their creative side...(Yes = 4, No = 2)  I hope two more people come in so we can get this thing going.  BTW, if people who just talk about their own games would expand their conversations into General Blah, we could easily have something going here.

Well, not everybody has the time [or inclination] to come into General Blah - lest we forget, this place was set up to allow people to discuss the projects, so it's actually a good thing if people talk about their games.
