New Project in the works!

Loolarge messaged me today with a description of his latest project and a demo. The project is loosely based on Shining Force 3, but is fully 3D with zooming and rotation support! Here’s his description:

This is my SF3-Style project. It uses the Truevision3D engine, and all coding is being done in c++. This release shows where i stopped 7 months ago, i had to put it on hold because of a new job offer. I am still working fulltime at that place, so i do not have much time for programming. I cannot promise any progression at all, but i’ll keep it on. It’s about fun.

In the meantime i purchased a license of the engine and now i am able to be a beta tester for the upcoming version 6.5. There are significant changes here, now there are exporter-plugins for Maya and 3DSMax, Normal Mapping, Particles and Pixelshaders are supported now as and facial animation will be possible too.

I am working on the script-editor right now. I plan to combine several editors later, scripting, level editing, Particle animation designer, cut-scene editor and Character editor.

All data will be combined in one encryped and compressed file later, not as chaotic like now.

Hence the early status of the game i don’t ask you for critics or specific feature ideas or bug reports (there are some known ones).

Ideas concerning story and content are welcome though. The only constans so far are that i want anime-style robots and drumnbass music in it. I am a big drumnbass and also turntablelism fan, so i also thought about giving some of the characters names from dnb producers, and there shall be one scratch-guy that uses his turntable as weapon

I’ve asked his permission to upload the demo. As soon as he will give that, you’ll be able to check this new project for yourself!

Tateru development begins

Having released Tatakai v1.4 to testers, the feedback shows that many testers want to develop MODs of their own. Therefore, development of Tateru has begun in eagernest.

Updates soon with screenshots. I plan to make Tateru a free release instead of monitoring and testing it, since it relies mainly on pre-existing Windows components.

SFTA Phoenix Demo

Sorry about the lack of updates for SFTA … infact, there have been no updates to report at all … The project died late last year with the closure of the HQ contest.

However, the lead team has got together again, and we have a new found sense of determination to work more on SFTA.

The Characters Page and the Timeline Page will be updated within the next couple of weeks, and it brings me great pleasure to announce a new demo is in the works.

SFTA Phoenix Demo

Aptly named as it comes at a time of revival of the project, and is currently aimed to be completed by Easter 2005.

Sadly, I have no details about this new demo at present… Its safe to say it will expand upon the Tech-Demo which we released a while ago, as for a playable demo, we cant be sure.. Only time will tell.

As soon as I have more details, you guys will be the first to know right here @ TSS.

Tatakai v1.4 out!

After months of peaceful development, IkitClaw has decided to launch a fresh beta version of Tatakai. You’ll have to visit the site in order to obtain it, as I’m not allowed to put it up in public yet ;)

Here are the accompanying notes directly from IkitClaw:

Tatakai v1.4 has now been released. See the site for more info at http://kyonshi.co.uk/ikitclaw

Includes:

  • More from Moogie’s MOD
  • Flying heroes & monsters
  • Better town menu system, incorporating the item chest for item storage.

Work on Tateru should commence soon, maybe to get the application core together. This should make it easier to build Tatakai MODs without headscratching and fixed-length string editing !

Huzzah !

PS: For users with WinXP SP2 and the evil Windows Security Centre, the blocked content on my page is in fact just a mouseOver TABLE background colour change – I left it in to show how silly the WSC is.
