Heaps of stuff from DeathsGate

I received two e-mails from Mitch, containing some very interesting stuff!

First of all he did a remake of his site Death’s Gate to make the Shining stuff more accessible

In addition to that, he uploaded a “Trailer” (talking about a first!) of his Shining Project, which you can find here

But there’s more:

“I just started working on another project, the shining in the darkness type of game and i even have a reeaaally simple movement demo to show that it will be like the original. But it’s a sign of things to come. The program is going to load one main file which contains all of the dungeon information therefore I can make this game – completely customizeable.

people will be able to create they’re own game!”

The download is posted at http://www.deathsgate.com/sid.html.

Fresh SV release

Coz Im lazy, here’s the message McPhisto posted at Ye Olde Blah ;)

Here’s a little battle demo for people to try out:

http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~clark4/svb1.zip

Now, it’s extremely buggy, unpolished, and incomplete. I just thought I should prove I’m still chipping away at this thing . If you could report on bugs, that’d be great. Just post em in this thread. Please don’t mention the graphics or sound – practically none of the gfx are going to make it into the final version, and I have other things to worry about at this stage.

I’ll add this demo to the TSS downloads later on and set up a local mirror for you guys :)

New Project Announced!

Some fellow named “Mitch” e-mailed me to inform me about his recent Shining Project endeavours.

One of them is a Shining Card Game, and the second is a Shining RPG. Both of the projects seem to be in a rather early stage, but the site looks interesting :P

Feel free to check it out or apply as a helper at http://www.deathgate.webhop.net/

Finally, there is something he had to say about this personally:

“The card game is going to take Less time to create – therefore I will be programming full force on it. I ALWAYS fully complete every project I undertake. My web site has lists of other projects I have done or have plans to do in the future.”

Sega opens new Shining website

Thanks to nuckles87 from our affiliate Dreamflint for this contribution!

Apparently Sega is going to launch a new website about the upcoming Shining games on April 30th. The website, aptly named “Shining World” (*cough* ripoff :P *cough*) will feature information about three different Shining games, including Shining Tears and Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon.

Nuckles added the following about the possible third project:

“The other Shining games could very well be either the MMORPG Sega announced a few months ago, or an all new, original Shining adventure. Either way, this has left us with a lot to anticipate come E3.”

Sounds like we can expect a boom in the Shining scene (and a lot of ‘misguided’ people checking out Shining Force World for the official Shining info! ;)

Updating & updating…

We did heaps of stuff in the last few days, and although most of it has been behind the screen, there are also some visible enhancements. :)

First of all, we added a few projects and a couple of fresh downloads. Other than that there’s also a new logo in the linktous section and the admin section has been grossly improved, as the first functionality such as posting news and worklog entries has been implemented :).

Of course we’ll keep building and adding stuff :D. If you want us to add something in particular, feel free to add something to the todo list on the forum :)
