Shining Valour update

I just managed to drag myself away from my Gamecube to post this for you :P

Shining Valour

Project website

Sam Waldron – Game designer, path layer
Wyndigo – executive art director (gotta love posh job descriptions ;) – Newts)

Development language: Multimedia Fusion

Most recent release

Most recent update or newsworthy happening:
Recently released a battle engine demo. The game has been put on hold for the next couple of weeks due to University essays and exams. When the mid-year break rolls along, I will begin working on the actual game. The plan is to release the game in chapters. Chapter One will feature 10 battles, 7 playable characters, and a lot of other stuff.

Other comments:
Glad to see TSS up and running! Looking forward to updating my own section of the website :P

Newts says: Having played the first battle of Shining Valour, this is a very promising project indeed. The graphics and general feel of the game recreate that “Shining feel” which is so difficult to describe; it’s one of those “you’ll know it when you see it” types of things. That’s not a very useful thing to say, so I highly recommend downloading the demo and seeing for yourself!

Tomorrow I’ll be updating you all on Shining Flash. See you then!

Fresh tileset from Peter!

Hi all,

Peter van Dalen created a fresh chipset with tiles, so that people can use these for their own project!

Since the Shining Aid section is down, I’ll put it up here instead :)

You can find them at Shining Aid – Tilesets

Of course, this chipset will be added to the Shining Aid section as soon as there is one :P

Two project updates!

Other comments:
MAY be porting it to PC, with the help of Mitch perhaps (Mitch is the webmaster of Death’s Gate, and a Shining fangame developer – Newts)

Okay, that’s it from Grom [told you it’d be quick :P], so tomorrow I’ll be moving onto McPhisto’s impressive Shining Valour project. Keep it here!

Legend of Atlantis update

It seems a long time since we heard anything from Nick’s “Legend of Atlantis” project, although for a long time it was presumed dead, never to be seen again. Still, here’s the latest update from the man himself.

The Legend of Atlantis

Project website
Anything will be posted up here (currently home to Nick’s Mithril Battle Simulator – Newts), with more work to come after the dreaded exams are over.

Just me, I’m afraid

Erm…

Most recent update or newsworthy happening
I’m going to develop a showreel this summer to submit to computer games companies with my application… I am unsure of the exact spec at the moment. All I know is that it has to be in C++ and it has to use some fancy 3D effects. I’m thinking of doing a battle engine… but I’m unsure at the moment! (How about a fully-3D Shining Style battle engine, Nick? :D – Newts)

Check out the website this summer for significant activity!

Sounds like there’s going to be quite a lot of work done to LOA over the summer, which is definitely something to look forward to!

Tomorrow there’ll be a double-whammy in the updates stake, as I’ll be giving you the skinny on Grom’s Shining Force: Table Top RPG and Shining Force: Collectible Card Game projects. Stay tuned!
